Fall Makeup Trends for 2021, as stated by 3 of the Top Beauty Publications

With things feeling heavy and lackluster for far too long, it looks as though this Fall will showcase bright, spicy, beautiful colors and trends. From soft nudes to bold brights—- let’s get to expressing ourselves this season, shall we?

Here are the Fall 2021 makeup trends as stated by 3 of the top beauty magazines/publications:

BAZAAR

1. The Kitten Eye: “The full cat-eye is a classic, but celebs like Sydney Sweeney have also been wearing a smaller flick—hence the “kitten eye”—as of late.”

2. Loaded Lashes: “Ultra-long lashes maintained their popularity as face masks shifted the focus to the eyes. Expect the trend to continue.”

3. Return of the Lip: “Lipstick, gloss, balms, tints, colors—it's all going to pop. "I think everyone will want to play up their lips with bolder color once we start going out again since it’s been more of a natural look.”

4. Intense Black Liner: “360-degree black eyeliner, just like you wore in high school. And don’t forget to apply to your waterline for the full effect.”

5. Graphic Liner: Check out the two looks Harper’s Bazaar posted HERE,

6. Glowy, Dewy Skin: “As the seasons turn cooler, complexions tend to transition more matte. But this year, expect lit-from-within skin like Chloe Bailey's to be more common—with or without makeup on top.”

7. Natural Brows: “The perfect complement to Melissa Barrera’s full brows? None other than a flash of colorful inner eyeliner.”

ALLURE

1. Pumpkin Spice Latte tones/looks like THESE to make heads turn

2. Tortoiseshell eye makeup, because, if there’s anything we’re learning, it’s that “ tortoiseshell patterns are not to be limited to glasses”. Let’s get creative and take a look at the how-to’s HERE.

3. Dramatic Lashes And Glowy Skin: “Thick, heavy lashes are one of fall's biggest trends”

4. Easy Glamour: This can be as easy as “cherry-red lips and a fishtail braid on the verge of falling out.”

5. Fall Metallics: Inspired by Zoe Saldana’s look of “smoldered with bronze-brown winged shadow and pale pink lips—it was a happy medium between sexy golden summer makeup and the dark smoky eyes we love for fall.”

VOGUE

1. Sci-Fi Metallics: “It all started at Ferragamo’s sci-fi-inspired show, where Fara Homidi created a throng of silver-trimmed ombré lips and painted model Sora Choi’s entire body in metallic silver. Furthering this futuristic theme at eye level were the two-tone metallic lids at Prada and the “raw edge crystal eyes” at Coperni.”

2. Bursts of Colors: “Inspired by pansy flowers, makeup artist Hélène Vasnier created vivid two-tone and “visually loud” eye makeup looks for Giambattista Valli, while pro Stevie Huynh conceptualized abstract, watercolored unibrows for Altuzarra to a hauntingly beautiful effect…”

3. Blumarine Face Embellishments: “Isamaya Ffrench is always taking makeup into new dimensions. For Burberry’s men’s show, she proposed imaginative face embellishments with a “constellation” of small, twinkly stars to a dreamy, celestial effect.”

4. Graphic Liner: “Last season, black eyeliner emerged as a fitting makeup statement with endless potential for these face mask–wearing times, so it wasn’t a surprise to see the fall collections churn out even more renditions.” See the featured look HERE.

5. 90’s and Y2K Fever: “Taking a ’90s nude pout to the next level, Schiaparelli opted for muted beige lips with dark lip liner to complement barely-there brows and smoky wings. Channeling candy-color rave beauty, there was Manic Panic–happy hair at Matty Bovan and swirls of glitter in silver and crimson across cheeks at Eckhaus Latta.”

6. Bold Lips: “The classic red lip got reimagined many different ways…”
